Vincent Henry Kayes of olean NY. they lived on 315 s 7th street for many years. Uncle Vincent still lived at the house,
until he had to be placed in a nursing home. they never had any children.

for the bluebird taxi cab company and retired in the late 1960's. George lost both his legs when he was very young. his feet
froze while he slept in a barn. He never married or had any kids.

Donald James Shattuck born 21 Sept 1919 and died 17 Sept 1998. He
joined the army during WW2, serving in the phillpines. Don lived in palm springs CA for many years with his life long
companion, Walter Kemp (Uncle Wally) . On 5 June 2008, Walter passed away at age 94 in Palm Desert Ca, he is buried
with Don at forrest lawn cemetery in Ca.

Howard Lavern Shattuck born 8 Jan 1921, he died 23 Aug 2003. He joined the army air corps WW2 and
served in the china burma india theather in May 1944. He earned two bronze stars. When he return home, he worked for dresser
rand company as a steam pipe fitter. Howard married Slyvia EstelleTaylor , Daughter of Fred Tayor and Maude Hatch and
sister of Virginia Amy Taylor-Shattuck. she died 17 Jun 1998. they had no children.
Uncle Howard was the last of his family to pass on.

Careene Mae Shattuck, born 11 May 1922 in Olean NY. she died in Downsville
NY 25 Feb 1997. She married Joseph Frank Simchick - Karban son of Frank and Bronislava "Minnie" Zelinski Simchick.
in July 1955.
Her first marriage at age 19 was to Leon Kilborn Aug 1941. Leon was
born 22 Apr 1918 in Manchester Vermont, son of George & Viola Kilborn. His father was born in Vermont 1872-1922 and his
mother was also born in Vermont 1871. They had two other children Favia and Luna Kilborn House.
George was the son of Frank Kilborn and Christine Wheeler. Leon died in Jan 1977, Portville NY. Careene and Leon
either seperated or divorce, never did get that story.

Bernard Gerald Shattuck was born 15 Sept 1923 and died 6 Aug 1985.
He served in the US Navy for 18 years as a ships steward WW2 aboard the ship USS Ludlow. he also served in the reserves. He
worked for Marra brothers motor company until he retired in 1978.
bernard married Virginia Amy Taylor, daughter of Fred Taylor and Maude Hatch, her sister was Slyvia
Estelle Taylor , who was married to Howard Shattuck. They had three children : Bernard Merle born in 1947,
he died in Viet nam 6 Nov 1967. David John, Kenneth Andrew and Myro Lou..

Lance corp Bernard Merle Shattuck, born 16 Apr 1947 in olean ny.
son of Bernard & Virginia Shattuck. He died in viet nam at age 20. He joined the USMC in july 1966. He drowned
in a rip current in a rec area. He fought on hills 881 & 871 in the DMZ near con thein.. prior to military service,
Bernard worked for Marra brothers auto agency in olean ny He is buried with his parents at St Bonaventure cemetery in allegany
ny.
Bernard severed in the USMC 16 Apr 1966 to Nov 1967, place of entry was Buffalo NY., He received the
National defense service medal, Vietnam service medal with 1 svc star, republic of vietnam campaign medal. Location of death
was Danang, Quang nam province-rep of viet nam, non-battle death. his MOS was 0351 Gunner basic infantry man.

JESSIE ALBERTA SHATTUCK 18 Mar 1925-
04 May 1996
She married Raymond Colley 1 jun 1946 in Olean NY. Uncle
Ray died 20 Jan 1971. Aunt Jessie died from insulin shock and heart failure, hypertension and gastrointestinal bleeding and
stroke. She was a resident of Heritage park nursing home in James town NY. Because of her arthritus she could no longer work.
She died at the WCA Hospital James town. Jessie was a retired farm worker and was employed by the Howard green farm in Portland and was a member of St Patrick’s catholic church. Aunt Jessie and Uncle Ray
are both buried in Evergreen cemetery Portland NY. I don’t remember a lot about Uncle Ray, he liked to work on cars,
and might had been a garage mechanic.
ONNELLE ETHEL SHATTUCK
1926-1945

Onnelle Ethel Shattuck born 6 Aug 1926, she died 11 Jan 1945 from
cancer. she was 18 1/2 yrs old. She attended Allegany HS. she loved the holidays and music, and was fun to be around.
tried to sign along with the popular WW2 songs at the time. Her aunt jessie had the magazines with the songs words
in them, such as, White cliffs of dover, don't sit under the apple tree, I'll be seeing you. these songs are the favorite
still today of niece Viola Gimlin-Gersch. She and Onnelle were pretty close in age and she loved her very much. her death
was pretty hard on her.
Charles William Shattuck born full term baby and died
31 July 1931. Mother Mary, fell down some stairs in the 9th month, he was stillborn.
